Plant Operator
Construction sites have become increasingly more mechanised over the last couple of decades and the qualifications for this plant have become increasingly more stringent. Overall on sites up and down the country safety is paramount and an increasing amount of plant of sites increases the health and safety requirements.
Plant operators are often required to have a knowledge of safe machine practice standards at a minimum. Operators need to have physical agility, technical ability, spatial awareness and coordination.
A good degree of construction knowledge is required to read and interpret construction drawings as necessary, and to implement these with a high degree of accuracy. Operators will need to be aware of maintenance and safety requirements with regards to the plant they are operating and will require to have qualifications for the plant they are operating.
Skilled and Qualified Plant Operators
Plant operators can operate a huge range of different construction plant depending on their qualifications and experience. Some plant operate on small construction projects through to specialised plant in hazardous environments.
We are often involved with contractors who are looking for drivers for 180 diggers, 360 diggers, loading shovels, dozers and telehandlers. We also have a number of clients operating quarries across the country how have requirements for operators experienced in quarrying and heavy plant.
Plant operators roles can be very short term when demand requires through to permanent positions with a high degree of job security. Pay rates within this area are often determined by the experience and qualifications of the operator.
